This help has been optimized for full-width display on PC monitors with a resolution of 1024x768.
The term Windows is used generally as a synonym for the following Microsoft operating systems: MS-Windows 98 (second edition), MS-Windows NT version 4 with service pack 3, MS-Windows 2000 and MS-Windows XP.
The word directory means the same as folder in Windows.
Before analyzing or modifying building models, the user should be familiar with the contents of this guide. A number of examples and tutorials, giving an introduction to the use of the applications in the BSim program package.
In some headings a letter is underlined. This has been done because the heading is analogous with the software menus and has a special meaning in the software. Underlining indicates that the option can also be activated using a series of keystrokes. The View option in the main View menu, for example, can be activated with the following combination: Alt v v. A "+" between two keystrokes means that both keys have to be pressed simultaneously.
The software suite uses a number of shortcut keys, which generally have the same function as in MS Windows. There are also a number of program-specific shortcut keys, however, These can be accessed by pressing the "Alt" key and a letter. The shortcut keys used are set out in the summary.
The "|" symbol (pipe) indicates that a menu can be reached via another menu. View | View followed by Zoom-In, for example, refers to the Zoom-In option, which is located under View in the main menu.
Some pages or sections are marked with a light yellow background colour. This indicates that the function is only available in BSim version 2002 (BSim2002) and later.
